Yes, tonight your intrepid Ostrich Killer will take on Lady GAGA, whose hit song with the above title would lead the airheads that will (shudder) become our next generation of leaders to think that homosexual behavior is an inevitable result of genetics.

But first, a 'Hats Off' to Tom, who surprised your Ostrich Killer one day recently by addressing me as "Hello, Ostrich Killer." Living proof that your Ostrich Killer now has at least two readers who recognize me on sight. I'd better see about enlarging my server space to accommodate all the readers.

But back to Lady GAGA. First off, I'm not sure the title 'Lady' is appropriate. She seems more like a campy sleaze in expensive make-up. The lady, as the saying goes, is no lady. But hey. That's just my take. Her message in the song is she's 'born this way' (homosexual) so she has no choice but to rejoice in behaving as a homosexual. I doubt that she actually does, but the lyrics would have us believe she does.

So let's examine the intellectual vacuum in which her assertion resides: that genetics dictates how we behave, and we're helpless to do anything about it. The fact that we have a brain matters not. The fact that we can reason things out matters not. The fact that we, as thinking and rational Humans (most of us), can CHOOSE how to behave matters not. No, she would have us believe, we're slaves to those implacable task-masters, our genes.

What utter crap. All behavior is a choice. Assuming mental acuity (let's not get into a discussion over whether homosexual behavior is a manifestation of some sort of mental disorder. I already get enough hate mail.), one chooses how to behave.

Sometimes we hear something like "I'm homosexual, but I know that to live a normal life I have to pretend to be straight, so I got married and have kids." News flash: we are how we behave. That's the ONLY criteria anyone has to determine what sort of person anyone is. Words mean nothing, what goes on between our ears is invisible to everyone, so only behavior matters. So to those out there who think they're really homosexual, good news: you're not, if you're not behaving like one.

Look at it from the other perspective: can you imagine a straight pretending to be homosexual, up to and including behavior? Most of us, if we could even get it up, would puke at the idea. So too, one might think, would a homosexual when trying to pretend to be straight. How would a guy even get it up for a woman, if he didn't feel desire? But most (about 85%, according to a recent survey) so-called homosexuals have had both straight and homosexual experiences. Complete without puking.

Hmmmm . . . .

So what's operating?

Behavioral choices. Not genetics.

Maybe Lady GAGA can record another hit single, "I Behave This Way."

JetBlue AIRWAYS - A HAZARD TO YOUR HEALTH

Your Ostrich Killer will now ask the question you haven't seen asked by the mainstream media: How is it that JetBlue, the employer of that flight attendant Steven Slater who quit his job by sliding down the emergency slide off an airliner, let a bleeding and unbandaged HIV- positive person work the cabin as a flight attendant?

This individual came in contact w/ hundreds of people daily. Did any of those people know he was both homosexual and HIV-positive? Would they have flown on that flight if they knew?

It takes less than a drop of HIV-infected blood to transfer AIDS to another, through any break in their skin or even any moist membranes, such as the eye. That flight attendant was bleeding before he ever got onto the aircraft, and did not bandage his wound. Surely Jet Blue wouldn't let such a person work in close contact w/ hundreds of unknowing innocents every day, would they? - - Uh, wait. They did. Not even the flight crew or cabin attendants insisted he bandage the wound. Had they been informed that he was HIV positive?

One wonders how far over we must bend for the PC crowd to put it to us. Must we even grab our ankles? Unknowingly risk our own health in order not to offend HIV carriers? It might be different if we knew the risks we were taking. But Jet Blue didn't tell anyone that I know about. I guess they feel that such risks are acceptable. Of course, if they believed that strongly, wouldn't they let us know ahead of time? And isn't it our decision to make as to what risks we're willing to take? Maybe we're just too stupid to make a rational decision about the risks. That must be it.

You can be sure that your Ostrich Killer will NOT be flying Jet Blue. I wonder how they will spin this. On second thought, they won't have to. The mainstream media isn't even raising the question.

Homosexual Behavior: Genetics or Choice?

Having pondered this question for some time, your friendly Ostrich Killer has come up with the definitive answer to the question of whether homosexuality is the results of genetics, or of choice. You'll need go no further than this blog to understand the final answer - the definitive answer - which you can then use in discussions with folks less informed than you will be.

Here is the answer: it doesn't matter. Either way it's a chosen behavior.

Allow me to expand. First, none of us can view what resides inside anyone else's skull, so we are restricted in the definition of homosexuality to describing behavior. That is important. One is not a homosexual unless and until one behaves as a homosexual.

So, let's assume for arguments' sake that an inclination to indulge in homosexual behavior is a result of genetics. But we are humans, the only rational creatures. We can think, reason, make choices about how we behave. We, unlike insects or sea cucumbers or furry animals, are not slaves to our chromosomes. We have will power. We can evaluate alternatives and make difficult choices. Therefore, there is nothing that stands in the way of a person who might experience genetically amplified homosexual feelings from choosing to behave as a heterosexual. To carry it one step further, it becomes obvious that sexual behaviors are choices, genetics or no genetics. Genetics, in short, are irrelevant when it comes to making choices.

Therefore, homosexual behavior is a matter of choice even if there might be a genetic link. Humans choose. Homosexuals, being humans, choose to behave in a homosexual manner.

That's why it doesn't matter whether or not homosexual behavior is encouraged by genetics. It is a chosen behavior.
